Por força do prestígio da entidade e de seu presidente, não era incomum a participação de Presidentes da República e governadores em eventos promovidos pela Associação, como aconteceu em 1975, durante o I Congresso Brasileiro da Indústria Elétrica e Eletrônica, que contou com as presenças do Presidente da República, Ernesto Geisel, e do Governador de São Paulo, Paulo Egydio Martins. A Abinee procura, desde sempre, apoiar suas propostas sobre sólidos fundamentos técnicos e econômicos. Assim aconteceu no II Congresso da Indústria Eletroeletrônica, realizado em 1978. A entidade fez ver ao País que seria impossível conquistar a independência econômica sem a correspondente independência tecnológica. Muito antes que o assunto virasse moda, a entidade propôs nesse congresso medidas voltadas ao desenvolvimento tecnológico nacional, com ênfase na produção interna de pesquisa. Through the strength of the entity’s prestige and that of its president, the participation of presidents of the republic and governors in events promoted by the Association was not uncommon. This happened in 1975 at the 1st Brazilian Congress of the Electrical and Electronics Industry which had among those present the President of the Republic, Ernesto Geisel, and the Governor of the State of São Paulo, Paulo Egydio Martins. Abinee always seeks to base its proposals on solid technical and economic fundamentals. This happened at the II Congress of the Electro Electronics Industry held in 1978.
